Breve Bio
Francesco Drago è nato nel dicembre del 1977 a Siracusa ed è professore ordinario di Economia Politica all’Università degli Studi di Catania, research fellow del CEPR (Londra), dell’IZA (Bonn) e del CSEF (Napoli). In precedenza è stato professore ordinario all'Università di Messina (dal 2015 al 2018), professore associato all’Università di Napoli Federico II (dal 2011 al 2015) e ricercatore all'Università di Napoli Parthenope (2006-2011). E' stato titolare di insegnamenti di economia del lavoro, economia comportamentale ed economia del crimine a Sciences Po (Parigi), Università di Parigi X (Nanterre), Università di Ginevra e Università del Rosario, Bogotà. È stato consulente per la World Bank, visiting scholar a University College London (2007), Columbia University (2008), Harvard University e NBER (2011) ed ha studiato e condotto ricerca in qualità di visiting student o scholar presso University of California, Berkeley, University of Munich, Santa Fe Institute, Sciences Po e EIEF (Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance). E' stato membro del panel della rivista Economic Policy nel biennio 2016-2018 ed è attualmente componente del comitato scientifico editoriale di EGEA (Bocconi University Press) e del comitato scientifico del Fondo Repubblica Digitale. E' co-fondatore della Fondazione Ortygia Business School e ha fatto parte del consiglio direttivo della fondazione fino al 2021. Ha conseguito la laurea in Economia e Commercio presso l’Università di Pisa e il dottorato di ricerca in Economia Politica presso l’Università di Siena. I suoi interessi di ricerca vertono su temi di political economy ed economia del crimine. È autore di articoli pubblicati su riviste internazionali quali il Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of the European Economic Association, Economic Policy. I suoi lavori sono stati recensiti da quotidiani come The New York Times, The Washington Post, Les Echos e Sole24Ore. Ha scritto editoriali ed articoli per il Corriere della Sera, Il Foglio, Sole24Ore, Linkiesta e Voxeu.
